Illinois Central 2-6-0 No. ??

When the Illinois Central Railroad first received this 2-6-0 locomotive from the Brooks Locomotives Works it was No. 560. In 1937 it was renumbered and became 3719. It was renumbered again in 1946 to No. 3706. Why the tender is numbered 3039 when on display at Steamtown in Bellows Falls, VT remains a mystery to me. This locomotive also operated on the Bevier Southern, where it was No. 109 and/or 16. This locomotive is currently on display at the Illinois Railway Museum.
