Sacramento

I stopped in Sacramento for one reason: to visit the California State Railroad Museum. Again. I am a ferroequinologist so I was in a state of euphoria on the day I spent at the museum. When I was kicked out of the museum at closing time, I wandered around Old Sacramento where the museum is located.

The California State Railroad Museum

Inside of the museum I saw:
A stained glass logo of the Southern Pacific Railroad, the only SP cab forward locomotive still in existence, a Kiso Forest Railway steam locomotive, and a diesel locomotive with the side panels removed to show what's inside the locomotive

Outside of the museum building is a turntable and the roundhouse doors that enter into the museum. The museum uses the door and turntable to change the locomotives that are on display. There's an operating Sacramento Southern diesel switcher, a Southern Pacific passenger train on static display, and a Santa Fe locomotive on static display.

Old Sacramento

Here we see a lift bridge crossing the Sacramento River and the inside of the Sacramento railroad station
