Edwards Cemetery

The Edwards cemetery was opened in 1838. It is located in what is now a quiet, out of the way location aside the Edwards Church. The cemetery is currently owned and managed by the Town of Framingham.

Not all of the headstones in Edwards Cemetary are "old". Some of the old and some of the new stones are pieces of artwork

Some of the stones have the emblems of organizations in which the departed was a member. This is a masonic emblem. The full names of the Masons is Free and Accepted Masons.

Membership identification can also be indicated with a marker, also called a flagholder, placed near the headstone. Here we find an IOOF flagholder, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

This flagholder was placed by The Sons & Daughters of Liberty

This marker is one of the Odd Fellows markers. FLT stands for Friendship, Love, and Truth which is one of the goals and aims of the organization
